Michael Crean is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from London. Crean creates music that crosses between alternative folk, electronic music and spoken word.

‘Songs to the Sea’ has been a 6 year labour of love for Michael Crean. Whilst producing for other artists, starting an electro-soul collective, writing music for theatre and film and moving across the corners of London, Crean developed a series of songs and poems. As the pandemic struck Crean finally sat down to weave together and finish the project. This became ‘Songs to the Sea’ - a 7 track concept EP.

On January 27th 2023, Crean will release his debut concept EP
'Songs to the Sea' alongside a 3rd Music Video

“It’s completely fictional. But it's also the truth, and feels very honest and scary. I mean that’s probably true of most art but it feels very present with this. It’s a collection of songs and poems that I wrote to understand moments in my life that I couldn’t quite get my head around any other way. But it's also about someone who grew up by the sea who imagines a dream-like apocalypse... And I’ve never lived anywhere near the Sea” - Michael Crean

LIVE

On the 9th February Michael Crean will celebrate the release of 'Songs to the Sea' at Colours Hoxton. Backed by a 6 piece band and featuring support acts from Meyad, Family Stereo and Mark Hole.
